Country Parks Update 17/05/2021

Buckinghamshire’s three country parks, Black Park, Langley Park and Denham Country Park in the south of the county all remain open. Thorney Park is also open.

As national restrictions begin to ease in line with the governments roadmap out of lockdown please remember to follow the latest government advice for your local area and social distancing guidelines at all times to stay safe. As we move towards each stage please remember to check back regularly for updates.

We are continually working on safe solutions to reopening all facilities and activities within each of the parks, taking into account government guidelines.

The charges to use the dedicated car parks remain in force, meaning that a ticket needs to be purchased from one of the machines or you can pay for parking using RingGo. We would recommend bringing your own hand sanitiser for use. Alternatively, a valid parking season ticket should be clearly displayed. Please note that the height barriers are in place at some of our car park entrances so no vehicles above a certain height will be able to enter. Additionally, bikes on top of cars will not be able to pass through the height barriers.

If you visit and the car park's are full please consider coming back at another time. Please be considerate to our staff and do not drop litter in our beautiful open spaces.

Our offices in Black Park remain closed to visitors and our phone lines are currently only open 9am -12.30pm, Monday - Friday. The easiest way to contact us is via email at countryparks@buckinghamshire.gov.uk

Country Parks Update 01/06/2020

Buckinghamshire’s three country parks are open – enabling people to make more of the outdoors. Thorney Park is also open.

Black Park, Langley Park and Denham Country Park in the south of the county are all back open for business for visitors to exercise more, take a walk, or simply enjoy a picnic in some of the most beautiful surroundings in Buckinghamshire.

We are continually working on safe solutions to reopening all facilities within each of the parks, taking into account government guidelines.  However, at the current time we have several restrictions in place to meet current social distancing requirements. This includes the continuing closure of visitor information points, offices, cafés, playgrounds and play areas. Also, in Black Park, the Go Ape facility remains closed. The toilets in Langley Park are now open and Black Park has a restricted number of toilets available for use.  We are working on a longer-term solution to open facilities at Denham but while they remain closed, please bring your own hand sanitisers to keep yourself safe.

Whilst cafes remain closed, we now have a limited takeaway offer from mobile units available in Black and Langley Parks. They are encouraging card payment, with social distanced queuing in place and may operate reduced hours compared to car park opening times.

The charges to use the dedicated car parks remain in force, meaning that a ticket needs to be purchased from one of the machines. Alternatively, a valid parking season ticket should be clearly displayed. Please note that the height barriers are in place at car park entrances so no vehicles above a certain height will be able to enter. Country Parks Update 21/05/2020

The toilets in all country parks are currently closed, and while we’re working on a longer-term solution, please bring your own hand sanitisers to keep yourself safe.

Whilst cafes remain closed, we now have a limited takeaway offer from mobile units available in Black and Langley Parks. This are encouraging card payment, with social distanced queuing in place and may operate reduced hours compared to car park opening times.

Additionally, bikes on top of cars will not be able to pass through the height barriers.

Full details of the current restrictions in the parks can be found in the section below.

Please remember to follow social distancing guidelines at all times to stay safe. Further guidance on spending time outdoors and access to green spaces during the current pandemic can be found on the government website

13/05/2020

In response to the latest government advice published earlier this week, we’ve now reopened our three country parks – enabling people to make more of the outdoors.

Black Park, Langley Park and Denham Country Park in the south of the county are all back open for business for visitors to exercise more, take a walk, or simply enjoy a picnic in some of the most beautiful surroundings in Buckinghamshire.

However, reopening the country parks has meant introducing several restrictions to meet current social distancing requirements. This includes the continuing closure of visitor information points, offices, cafés, playgrounds and play areas. Also, in Black Park, the Go Ape facility remains closed, as does the Temple Gardens in Langley Park. The toilets in all country parks will also be closed, and while we’re working on a longer-term solution, please bring your own hand sanitisers to keep yourself safe.

Additionally, bikes on top of cars will not be able to pass through the height barriers.
