Forestry works in our country parks
Throughout autumn 2026, forestry works will commence across our country parks. You can find out more about where forestry works are taking place and why it is important to manage our woodlands.
From 26 October 2026, forestry works will commence across our sites starting at Rowley Wood, and moving onto both Black Park Country Park, and Langley Park Country Park, throughout November 2026.
The forestry works taking place across our country parks this autumn are an important stage in the forestry cycle which helps to keep our woodlands healthy. As trees are removed and more light reaches the ground, ground cover plants and tree saplings will naturally begin to regenerate and flourish.
These works will take place over several weeks starting with heavy machinery, like the harvester pictured here in Black Park Country Park which removes trees. This is followed by the creation of large timber stacks within the park. We expect the follow up works and woodland recovery to continue into 2027.
We know temporary restrictions on paths and informal routes through woodland can be frustrating. When visiting the country parks this autumn, we ask you to follow all on site signage and instructions from Country Parks staff and contractors. By following the advice on site during forestry works, our visitors can help us to ensure that everyone visiting and working in the country parks are kept safe.
